Prologue
For this assignment I decided to tweet a day in my weekend when I was searching for a house to rent with my roommates for my senior year. At first, I had the narrative in first person, but for the third draft I switched to third person (Miley's perspective.) Since it is what happened to me, I go through the events that happened throughout the day from getting ready to go to the last moment in the car on our way home. I take you through the our adventure that we took on to search for our new home. Even though we didn't wind up getting any of the three houses that I talk about, it still has interesting views and concerns that took us through the process. I have never looked at houses before especially not townhouses since I live in one at home and I live in apartments at school. I never had the chance to live in a separate house not connected with other people on the sides. I thought that this would make for a good story about a day in my life, something I never did before.
Draft One includes all of my embedded tweets that I wrote during my experience house hunting.
Draft Two includes pictures that go along with some tweets.
Draft Three includes the tweets and the pictures along with YouTube clips. I decided to keep all of the tweets because I thought that each one of them brought the reader along with me through my house hunting process. I thought that it was important to include each tweet. I tweaked some here and there to improve them, but I kept all of the tweets. I changed draft three to third person at the end because I thought it would be better if it wasn't told from my point of view.
Core Value 6 mainly deals with this assignment of the Twitterive. Core Value 6 states that Writing Arts students will understand the impact evolving technologies have on the creation of written texts. For this assignment, we are using technology such as the computer to complete the task. We also are using social media websites such as Weebly and Twitter in order to narrate our stories to our readers.
Core Value 4 also can be used within this project. It states that Writing Arts students will be able to investigate, discover, evaluate and incorporate material into the creation of text. For this assignment, I had to use materials from online sources in order to incorporate media into my narrative. Finding images and YouTube clips help to enhance my project and helps the reader to follow along with my story and to have fun with it.
For the repetend, I used "ON TO THE NEXT ONE..." multiple times throughout the story. It adds to the story to create an effect of duplication. I feel that it makes the reader want to keep reading. "The purpose of repetend is to create unity among the various genre pieces and to give the writer an editorial voice that the reader can easily relate to." I feel that the reader can easily relate to this repetend because a lot of my friends say it when it deals with anything so I felt that it was a good idea for my readers to feel this too.
